The Yamaha RSS20 takes the Revstar platform into more refined territory, combining upgraded materials, enhanced tonal response, and higher-spec construction into a guitar built for serious long-term playing. Built around a pair of VH5 Alnico V humbuckers, the RSS20 delivers a more articulate and expressive response while maintaining the warmth, punch, and character that define the Revstar lineup.

The VH5 pickup set produces strong low-end presence, focused mids, and open top-end clarity with impressive dynamic sensitivity under the hands. Yamaha’s Dry Switch further expands the tonal range by tightening low frequencies and increasing articulation without introducing the thinner response commonly associated with traditional coil splitting. The result is a more controlled and usable alternate voice that remains full and musical across a wide range of gain levels.
