The Yamaha NCX5 represents a significant step forward in craftsmanship, materials, and tonal refinement within the NX Series. Built in Japan, it is designed for professional players who demand a traditional nylon-string feel with uncompromising performance both acoustically and amplified.
At the core of the NCX5 is its all-solid wood construction, featuring a solid European spruce top with rounded edges paired with solid walnut back and sides. This refined build enhances resonance, improves comfort, and delivers greater tonal depth, clarity, and balance across the frequency range.
The European spruce top is treated with Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), which simulates the natural aging process of wood. This results in a more open, mature tonal character with improved responsiveness, warmth, and dynamic range.
The full-size classical body produces a rich, rounded tone with strong low-end presence and smooth, controlled highs.
