Yamaha L Series — Find the acoustic that grows with you
Everyone needs a good acoustic guitar.
The right acoustic becomes part of the family. It's there when you write your first song, when you find that perfect riff, and when you just need to pick something up and play.
LL — Original Jumbo
Looking for a full, powerful acoustic with plenty of projection? The LL is a great place to start. Ideal for players who love big chords, flatpicking and the unmistakable presence of a larger-bodied acoustic.
LS — Concert
Prefer something more compact? The LS offers a comfortable smaller body with excellent balance and articulation. A particularly appealing choice for fingerstyle players and anyone who appreciates clarity and detail.
LJ — Medium Jumbo
Want something between the two? The LJ combines comfortable dimensions with a versatile voice that works beautifully across strumming, fingerpicking and lead playing.
6 Series — Solid-top construction
The 6 Series features a solid Engelmann spruce top treated with Yamaha's A.R.E. process, paired with layered back and sides.
The solid spruce top is the heart of the instrument. As it ages and responds to years of playing, it can become more open and resonant.
16 Series — All-solid construction
The 16 Series takes things further with solid Engelmann spruce tops and solid rosewood or mahogany back and sides.
With solid wood throughout the body, the top, back and sides all have the potential to mature over time. As the guitar ages and gets played, its response, resonance and harmonic complexity can continue to develop.
Rosewood — Rich and resonant
Rosewood is prized for its deep, resonant bass, sparkling highs and rich harmonic overtones. It brings depth and complexity to an acoustic, with a wide tonal range that can sound equally beautiful under a light fingerstyle touch or when you're really digging into a big open chord.
Mahogany — Warm and focused
Where rosewood is known for its extended lows, shimmering highs and rich overtones, mahogany is often appreciated for its warm, woody response and strong, focused midrange.
Neither tonewood is universally better. They're two distinct personalities, and finding the one that speaks to you is part of what makes choosing an acoustic so rewarding.
LL16D — A touch of timeless elegance
The LL16D pays tribute to that tradition, bringing a touch of timeless elegance to Yamaha's all-solid LL16 platform.
Beautiful abalone detailing, classic styling and the rich, powerful voice of an Original Jumbo.
Built to be heard — Yamaha SRT Zero Impact Pickup
This discreet passive pickup system is designed to capture the guitar's acoustic response without the bulky control panels and unnecessary changes to the instrument's traditional appearance.
Whether you're performing on stage, recording or simply plugging into an acoustic amplifier, the L Series gives you the freedom to take your sound beyond the living room.
Protection worthy of the instrument
Yamaha doesn't treat the included hard bag as an afterthought.
In our experience, Yamaha's L Series hard bag is one of the better included guitar cases in the industry.
It's a substantial, well-designed protective bag made for musicians who actually take their instruments out into the world.
